The Presence & Connection Initiative
Restorative wellness experiences for communities that deserve to feel seen, supported, and connected.
Everyone deserves opportunities to pause, breathe, move gently, and feel a sense of belonging—regardless of age, income, background, ability, or life circumstance.
The Presence & Connection Initiative brings accessible mindfulness, gentle Qigong-inspired movement, guided meditation, and sound-based wellness experiences to communities through nonprofit, educational, health, and community partners.
Created by Gaby de la Mora, bilingual mindfulness and wellness educator, Gong Master, Qigong instructor, and long-time public well-being advocate, these programs are designed to offer moments of calm, connection, dignity, and renewal in the places where people already gather.
Programs We Can Create Together
Youth Presence & Resilience
A welcoming program for adolescents and young adults who may be navigating academic pressure, social change, family stress, identity questions, and the emotional intensity of growing up.
Sessions may include mindful breathing, age-appropriate guided meditation, gentle movement, reflective conversation, and sound-based relaxation. The intention is to help participants practice pausing, noticing their internal experience, and building practical skills for everyday self-awareness and resilience.
Best for: youth organizations, after-school programs, schools, family resource centers, and community-serving nonprofits.
Women’s Renewal Circles
A restorative gathering for women carrying the many demands of work, caregiving, family life, change, or loneliness.
Through mindful movement, guided meditation, sound, and reflective practices, participants are invited to experience a moment of rest, self-compassion, and connection with others. Each circle is designed as a nonjudgmental space where women can replenish their energy and reconnect with their own inner voice.
Best for: women’s organizations, caregiver-support programs, workforce-development nonprofits, community centers, and foundations serving women and families.
Vitality & Connection for Older Adults
A gentle, inclusive wellness experience that supports calm, engagement, and connection for older adults.
Programs can include chair-based movement, breath awareness, accessible Qigong-inspired practices, guided relaxation, music, and gong or sound-bath experiences adjusted to the setting and participants’ comfort. The focus is on shared presence, enjoyment, and opportunities to feel more connected with oneself and community.
Best for: senior centers, affordable senior housing, adult day programs, community centers, and organizations serving older adults and caregivers.
How Programs Work
Each partnership begins with a conversation about the community you serve, the setting, participants’ needs, accessibility considerations, and your desired outcome.
Programs may be offered as:
A one-time community gathering or wellness event.
A four-, six-, or eight-session series.
A staff, caregiver, or volunteer renewal experience.
A bilingual English-Spanish program.
A community program funded by a foundation, donor, sponsor, or grant.
Sessions can be offered in person in Orange County and surrounding Southern California communities, or virtually when appropriate.
A Thoughtful, Responsible Approach
Every program is built around respect, accessibility, consent, and inclusion.
Participation is always voluntary.
Practices are adapted for the setting, age group, mobility, sensory preferences, and cultural context.
Participants may sit, stand, move gently, or simply listen.
Programs do not diagnose, treat, or replace medical, psychological, educational, behavioral, or veterinary care.
For youth, disability, elder-care, or animal-related settings, I work with the host organization to establish appropriate participation, accessibility, safeguarding, and referral practices.
